Dear Parents

The children had a lovely picnic lunch today and we are lucky that we have so many trees in the grounds so that everyone could sit in the shade to eat. We reduced the amount of time outside to prevent the children over-heating.

When they returned to class we delivered ice lollies to everyone – and we had cheers of delight along with lots of children saying thank you.

We were delighted and amused when one of the children asked us if they could put their ice lolly in their bag and save it for later!

Sadly, our expected visit from Paul Sturgess has been postponed as his own daughter is ill in hospital. We are hoping to re-arrange for the Autumn term.

This does mean however, that we can now offer an optional early collection tomorrow afternoon.

The children and staff have done so well to keep going over the past couple of weeks, in such uncomfortable conditions.

So, if you are able to collect at the earlier time of 1:30pm tomorrow please do so. We are cancelling our usual Friday assemblies to make this earlier collection possible.

We are of course still open until 3:15 for those that cannot collect earlier -but please do be on time. I want to be able to let staff leave as soon as the children have gone tomorrow so that they can get home and cool off after a hot and challenging week.

Thank you for your positive comments and support over the last couple of weeks.

It is expected to be cooler next week…so hopefully normal routines will resume.
