School Grounds Week Success
Fri 29 Sep 2023We have had a fantastic week improving our school grounds. All classes have taken some learning outside, made a scarecrow and created a semi permanent or permanent feature in the grounds.
The children have had a wonderful time. Year 5 have regenerated the pond area. Year 1 have tided and painted the raised beds and hung colourful wind chimes.
We've also bombed a tree with ribbons and scarves and Year 6 have made beautiful mosaics with real tiles.

KS2 Sports afternoon postponement
Mon 03 Jul 2023Such a shame that we had to postpone KS2 sports this afternoon - but typical British weather scuppered our plans once again! Fingers crossed for KS1 sports afternoon on Friday. We will try to re-schedule KS2 before the end of the year.

Woodgate Wardrobe and Woodgate Pantry -Support for families.
Fri 23 Jun 2023Good afternoon.
I am pleased to say that in partnership with the charity MCKS, we now have our 'Woodgate Pantry' in school.
Our aim to is to make sure we have enough food in school to help any family in need that may find they need a little support from time to time.
If you feel that this service would help you just let school know and we can arrange a food pack for you.
We are also developing the 'Woodgate Wardrobe' and have some uniform, coats, normal clothing and school shoes available. This is possible due to support from the charities, Rubery Swap Shop and Sal's Shoes.
Rubery Swap Shop have so much children's uniform, shoes, P.E kite etc available free of charge. So please use them if you can. They are based on New Road, Rubery It will save you a fortune and reduce the amount of clothing that goes to landfill. If you can't get there, just tell us what you need and the sizes of the children and we can arrange to collect it for you.
If we can help you with school shoes or uniform, please speak to one of our office ladies and we will do what we can to support.
We want all Woodgate children to have everything they need to start the school year in September and the cost of living is making it harder than ever, especially if you have several children.
Best Wishes
Mrs Colley.

Half Term News
Fri 26 May 2023Dear Parents
Today we break up for half term.
We have held KS1 and KS2 assemblies.
We have given out hundreds of certificates for 'Good to be Green' behaviour, to children who demonstrate the very best learning behaviours almost all of the time, 99 club certificates for children who are developing their times table knowledge and reading champion certificates and badges for children that are reading regularly at home.
If your child brings a certificate home please make a big fuss of them and congratulate them on their achievements.
I wish you all a happy and sunny half term. We look forward to seeing you back on Monday 5th June.
By the way.. we have raised £1,978.67p from the sponsored walk...I wonder if we'll manage to reach £2000 after half term? Only £21.33p needed!
Thank you again for your continued support.
